John Demski, Jr.

John Demski, Jr., 99, of Toledo and Formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, September 28, 2002 at his daughters home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, at St. Charles Church in Leaton with Father Jeff Donner and Sister Mary Ellen McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Church, c/o St. Henry Parish, 4079 E. Vernon Rd., Rosebush MI 48878. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. John was born November 20, 1902, in Mt. Pleasant the son of John and Hattie (Makoski) Demski, Sr. He married Sophie Wallace on September 25, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1930-1962. He later worked at home on the farm until 1993. He has been living in Toledo since 1995. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. John is survived by three children, George (Luella) Demski of Mt. Pleasant, Theresa (John) Pakulski of Toledo, and Carl (Phyllis) Demski of Westland; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sophie in 1997; a son, Tom Demski; grandson, John Demski; two brothers, Walter and Stanley Demski; and five sisters, Anna Sheline, Mary Owens, Katherine Wroblewski, Theresa Jones, and Martha Stachowiak.
