John Francis Lopez

John Francis Lopez, aged 80, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Born on January 29, 1946, he was the youngest of seven children of Santos and Anita (Ventura) Lopez. A 1965 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, John dedicated nearly 30 years of his career to The Delfield Company as a metal finisher and stamper.

John's life was enriched by his marriage to Joyce Wonch, with whom he had three children: Tina, Rachel, and Michael. He later married Joyce (Roe) Boursaw on September 29, 1993, in Mt. Pleasant, MI. John had a passion for woodworking, creating puzzles, step stools, toy trains, sewing boxes, family name plaques, and squirrel feeders. He took pride in maintaining an immaculate yard and enjoyed hosting outdoor cookouts. A lover of classic cars, John always dreamed of owning a GTO but cherished his 1979 t-top Corvette.

John leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Joyce; his children, Tina Lopez of Mt. Pleasant, Rachel (Robert) Fedewa of Remus, and Michael (Maribel) Lopez of Mt. Pleasant; his two twin step-children, Michael Boursaw of Lansing and Michelle Boursaw of Cleveland, OH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister, Eleanor Lopez of Mt. Pleasant and his brother, Robert (Lora) Lopez of Traverse City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dave Lopez, Delphina Vasquez, Anita Medrano, and Enedina Quezada; and step-son, James Boursaw.

Cremation has taken place and his cremains will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
