John E. Moore

John E. Moore, 87, formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004 in Ocala, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. John was born March 23,1915, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Albert and Mary (Flannery) Moore. He married June Huber on September 1, 1941 in Remus. He spent the majority of his life as Manager of Vics Supermarket (Rics). He also enjoyed golf, watching football and yard work. John is survived by two children; David (Elaine) Moore of Ocala, FL; Marilyn (Harold) Standley of Coopersville; one sister, Betty Richmond of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife June; his parents; two sisters, Charlotte Lauer and Marie Kenney.
