John Henry Neyer, 46, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully Sunday, October 12, 2014 at home. Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass for John will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, October 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski presiding and Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. The family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or Art Reach. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Born to John F. Jack and Cora A. (Doyle) Neyer on August 1, 1968, John graduated from Mount Pleasant High School before earning a bachelor's degree at Michigan State University in 1991. Upon graduation, John returned to his hometown where he worked in graphics design and eventually joined his family at Mt. Pleasant Realty. He had a kind and generous spirit with an incredible joyfulness that was contagious. John enjoyed spending his time with family, friends, and most of all, time with his daughters, Sophie and Emma. John was a beloved father, phenomenal at encouraging his daughters' creativity. He beamed with pride when talking about their latest endeavors in school, sports or other activities. John was an avid Central Michigan and loyal Michigan State fan. He attended many contests, enthusiastically cheering on his beloved Spartans to victory. John had an undeniable talent and passion for creating art. He could effortlessly express his ideas and thoughts into the most magnificent artworks for all of us to enjoy. John will be remembered as an extremely kind, loyal, and creative man whose passion for his family was clearly evident. He was the best kind of a friend, there whenever he was needed, with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. It is his kind and joyful spirit that will keep him always in our hearts John is survived by his two daughters, Emma and Sophie, along with their mother, Meredith (Rodman) Lott; his parents, Jack and Cora Neyer of Mt. Pleasant; and extended family.
