Joe Myslivec, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Joe is survived by his wife, Pam Myslivec; children, Jared Myslivec of Washington, Kara (Matt) Henning of Petoskey, and Tyler Rhoades of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Drew and Harrison Henning; brother, Paul (Jackie) Myslivec of Anchorage, AK, niece, Brandy Myslivec of Alaska; and many friends. Joe was born November 4,1954, in Owosso, Michigan, son of the late Jerry and Eva (Drlik) Myslivec. After graduating from Owosso High School, he earned his undergraduate and then master's degrees in both Business Administration and Education from Central Michigan University. Joe was employed by CMU for 35 years as a professor and advisor in the Marketing Department. Joe was active in many sports but especially loved racquetball (playing most days) and golf. He enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada and working in his yard, often drawing appreciation for the cascading petunias he grew. Joe married his wife, Pam, on October 23, 1999. Joe and Pam shared their love for traveling – visiting places such as the Bahamas, Jamaica, Greece, Ireland, Prague, Austria and other countries. The two had a fun, competitive spirit when it came to board games – having a continuous scrabble or gin tournament between them. Joe would lend a hand to any of his family and friends, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, at the Lincoln Reception Center (attached to Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home). The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - memorial service beginning at 12 p.m. with a full meal following. Any contributions will be given to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes will be available at the service.
