Joseph William Reihl, affectionately known as Joe, aged 62, of Beal City, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Born on August 20, 1963, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph N. and Martha T. (Faber) Reihl. Joe was the youngest of seven children, cherished by his siblings Rose, Harold, Vera, Howard, Edward, and Helen.
Joe was a proud graduate of Beal City High School, class of 1982. He dedicated 38 years of his life to his work at Delfield, where he was known for his generosity, thoughtfulness, and devotion to his co-workers. Joe was a man who worked hard and played harder, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
He was blessed with three wonderful children: Sarah, Nathaniel, and Kayla. He adored them and often spoke of them at work and everywhere he went. Joe was a passionate sports fan, especially of the Tigers and Lions, and he never missed his children's sporting events. He had a great love for Rock N Roll, particularly AC/DC, and enjoyed mowing lawns and cutting wood, referring to his chainsaw as his 'girlfriend'.
Joe was an active member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and the Beal City Knights of Columbus. He was known for his great sense of humor and his love for chicken barbeques, Mountain Dew, Budweiser, hayrides, and family parties. One of his favorite sayings was, 'May the good Lord take a liking to you.'
Joe's legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to his family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sarah (Nicholas) Kotecki (stationed in North Dakota), Nathaniel "Nate" Reihl (stationed in Nevada), and Kayla Reihl of Mt. Pleasant; siblings, Rose Sheahan, Vera (Ron) Bollman, Howard Reihl, Edward Reihl, and Helen Reihl; in-laws, Peggy Reihl; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Martha Reihl; brother, Harold Reihl; and in-laws, James Sheahan and Annette Reihl.
A Funeral Mass for Joe will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Father Andy LaFramboise will preside. Rite of Committal will be in St. Joseph Cemetery concluding with a luncheon at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church on Friday from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service and time for sharing beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday one hour before Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
