Joseph Hugh Riley

Joseph H. Riley, age 60, of Weidman, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017, at MidMichigan Health Care System in Midland, with his family by his side. He was born October 16, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late William James and Mary Louise (Faber) Riley. A 1974 graduate of Chippewa Hill High School, Joe married Patty Jean Branson on October 25, 1975, at Weidman Baptist Church. He had worked at the Delfield Company before completing his lifelong dream of purchasing Weidman Hardware. Joe is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patty Riley; three daughters, Gwen (Matt) Alwood, Carrie (Joe) Riley, and Kelly (Jeremy) Shaner, all of Weidman; six grandchildren, Mason and Samantha Alwood, Maddilyn Riley, and Alexandria, Jacob and Claire Shaner; sister, Pat (Glen) Miller of Lake George; and brother, Bill (Sherry) Riley; in-laws, Joyce Riley and Jerry Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Louise Riley; siblings, Bob, Dave, Jerry, Steve, Jean Smith, and Eileen Tilmann; and infant brothers, Dale and Michael.
