Josephine Pearl Riley

Josephine Riley, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at McLaren Central Michigan. She was born February 17, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Glen Kennedy and Virgil (Allen) Kennedy-Durhan. Josephine graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and was employed by Central Michigan Community Hospital in housekeeping. She enjoyed crocheting. With a loving heart, Josephine treated everyone like family. Family was everything to her. Josephine is survived by her son, James (Tara) Riley of Shepherd; two daughters in-law, Kim (Scott) McClernan of the Fremont area and Heidi Riley of Alma; brother in-law, William Thering of Shepherd; step daughter, Angela Smith of Mt. Pleasant; 16 grandchildren, Kenneth (Sierra) Riley, David Riley, and Stephen Riley, Jason (Dani) Riley, Brian (Holly) Riley, Ashly (Nate) Fishburn, Felicia Bassett (Casey Patten), Matthew (Elizabeth) Maxon, Kaycee (Nate) Boyd, Casey Wakefield, Justin Riley, and Zachary Riley, and Andrew (Courtney) Davidson, Aaron (Stephanie) Davidson, Addam Davidson (Brittany Ames), Ashlyn Davidson; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gerald Riley and John Riley; sister, Georgia Thering. Josephine's memorial service will be held at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, with Pastor Dana Hendershot officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Her ashes will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery in Winn following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
