Joy Louise Doremire, 81, of Weidman, Michigan passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at her home surrounded by love. Joy was born on March 31, 1934 in Dearborn, Michigan, the daughter of Roland and Virginia (Wise) Emling. On May 17, 1975, she married Jack B. Doremire in Mt. Pleasant. Jack preceded her in death on April 25, 2004. Joy was a resident of the area since 1956. She was employed as the Student Employment Office Manager at CMU for twenty eight years. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, the High Fever Follies, bowling and serving as a volunteer at the hospital and for hospice. Joy loved gardening, her horses and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Gary (Colleen) McConnell of Bowling Brook, Illinois, Greg McConnell of DeKalb, IL, Diane (Thomas) Anderman of Mt. Pleasant, from her marriage to Owen McConnell, her step children, Cindy (William) Walz of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy (Scott) Hoffman of Huntington Woods, MI. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Emling and Ronald Emling of California, and two sisters, Carol Thill of Detroit and Linda Ramsey of Boise, Idaho; and Joys devoted caregivers, Kim Staples, Bonnie Gallagher, Michelle Laitinen, Patty VanAcker, Gracie Jurkowski, and Shelly Garner. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, both parents and a brother. Funeral services for Joy will be held on Friday, May 15, at 11:00 A.M. from the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor James Chapin officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, May 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Private graveside services will be held for the family with burial in the family cemetery on Sweet Water Ranch, Weidman.
