Joyce Jean (Hallenbeck) McDaniel, age 87, of Remus passed away on September 10, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born on September 11th, 1927 to Harry and Urilla (Hadix) Hallenbeck in Lansing. Joyce married Jim McDaniel on December 20th 1948 in Corinth, Mississippi and they were married 65 years until he passed away on May 18, 2014. Joyce and Jim moved to the Remus area in 1974. Joyce loved bowling and bingo. She was very active with the March of Dimes for years.
Joyce is survived by her loving children; Janice Goulette of Midland, Joy Christle of Houghton Lake, Jean Conn of Eaton Rapids, Joan Coolman of Eaton Rapids, and James (Bernadine)McDaniel of Remus; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, one great grandchild and seven siblings.
A funeral service for Joyce will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maier Family Funeral Home in Weidman with Pastor Brandon Metzger officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Memorial donations in Joyce's honor may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
