Judith Elaine Westheimer (Hodges)

Mrs. Judith Westheimer, 74, of Brethren, passed away September 6, 2023. Judy is fondly remembered by her family for her love of frogs, her joy of playing card and board games, avidly watching and being a fan of the show "Lucifer," and being a proud Michigan State University alumnus. She loved to read, watch MSU football and basketball games, and always had special treats to spoil her grandchildren. The daughter of Bertha and Garnet Hodges, Judy was born on March 11, 1949. She grew up in Ferndale, Michigan and graduated from Hazel Park High School. She attended Michigan State University where she met her husband, Jeffrey Westheimer. Following graduation, she married fellow MSU alumni Jeffrey Westheimer on June 17, 1972. Judy was employed with several different hospitals throughout her career as a medical technologist. Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jeff, in 2018. Judy is survived by her two children - Melinda (James) Kremsreiter of Mount Pleasant and Jamie (Lisa) Westheimer of Tustin. She immensely loved her grandchildren: Jerik, Jolie, Larissa, David, and Apolinar. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Roby (Michael) Cohen of Dexter and two nieces - Julie Cohen of Grand Rapids and Josie (Alex) Ziegler of Cincinnati. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place at Memorial Fields Crematory with no memorial service. Instead of flowers, Judy would have appreciated contributions in her memory to Manistee County 4-H.  To sign the online guest book or leave a condolence for the family please visit www.CharlesRLux.com.
