Julia Sole Griffin

Julia Griffin, 15, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at Covenant Harrison Hospital in Saginaw. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John OMalley officiating. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gift of Life or First Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Julia was born March 13, 2001, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Melissa A. Lownsbery and Gerald L. Griffin. She was a student at Mt. Pleasant High School where she participated in Basketball and Cheerleading. She was also an active member of Young Life. She loved music and enjoyed singing, hanging out with her friends, and shopping. For the past two months she had been employed by Rallys. Julia is survived by her mother, Melissa Lownsbery of Mt. Pleasant; father, Gerald Griffin of Mt. Pleasant; nine siblings, Izeal, Desiree, Gabrielle, Shawntay, Dontay, Aleesha, Ayanna, Gerald, and Brianna; maternal grandparents, John and Julie Lownsbery of Lake, paternal grandmother, Elaine Griffin of Louisiana; aunts and uncles, Bobbie (Mark) OMalley, Ted (Vicki) Lownsbery, Nelson (Demetrice) Griffin, Andreal Griffin, Yanni Griffin; and numerous cousins.
