Julianna Pell was born on April 10, 1921 in Alma the daughter of the late George and Laura (Amsbury) Hooper. She graduated from Alma High School and St. Louis Business College before marrying Thomas Pell in May of 1949. Julianna worked as a legal secretary for many years before being employed by Central Michigan University. In addition, her career as an Avon representative lasted 42 years. Julianna was an accomplished musician who played the organ for church services and weddings. She found teaching piano and organ lessons a rewarding part of her life. Many people enjoyed Juliannas special musical gifts. In addition to her musical talents, Julianna was an avid collector of antiques and took pride in the many pieces she personally refinished. Needlework and sewing were a passionate pastime. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Mt. Pleasant. Julianna is survived by her aunt, Doris Amsbury; daughter, Doris (Richard) Blair; and her three grandchildren, David (Nicole) Blair, Stephen and Elizabeth Blair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and sister, Ruth Hooper. According to Juliannas wishes, a private family graveside ceremony will take place.
