Keith Patrick Lockwood

Keith Lockwood, 52, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at his home. His Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Jim Young of Clare Church of the Nazarene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, a gathering will be held at the Mason Center, 2174 S. Lincoln Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Lyme Disease Association, 35431 Brush St., Wayne MI 48184. Keith was born Dec. 28, 1957, the son of James E. and Patricia M. (Myers) Lockwood. Keith grew up through childhood with his family in Michigan then spent several of his young adult years working out-of state. He returned home in the mid-1980s and completed a fine arts degree at Central Michigan University. Keith was an accomplished printmaker and photographer inspired by the natural world of woods, water and animals. On July 26, 2001 he married Rebecca Allen in Munising, Michigan. He was an avid fisherman, a passion he shared with his wife, father, brother and several friends. He spent many enjoyable days with them boating and fishing on Michigan and Ontario inland lakes and the great waters of Lake Superior. A connoisseur of music and a gardener of flowers, he enriched the lives of those around him with his talents. Keith is deeply appreciated for the compassion and care he gave to his wife and family members and will be remembered for his intelligence and keen sense of humor by all who loved him. Keith is survived by his wife, Rebecca Allen of Mt. Pleasant; mother and step-father, Patricia and Dale Hassenzahl of Shepherd; brother, Douglas (Catherine) Lockwood of Wheaton, IL; sister, Rebecca (Ronald) Meadors of Shepherd; nephews, Aaron and Adams Meadors; and two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and several other nieces and nephews on his wifes side. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Lockwood.
