Kendale J. Recker, age 66, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at McLaren Bay Region. Born on October 2, 1959, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Kendale was the beloved son of Oscar and Dortha (Kirkpatrick) Recker of Mt. Pleasant. He attended Beal City High School and started his working career with North American Van Lines driving truck with his wife Carla (Lovejoy) Recker. He was later employed with Hitachi Magnetics in Edmore, Michigan for many years, retiring at age 65 from Avalon Tahoe Pontoons in Alma, Michigan. Ken enjoyed mud bogging, deer hunting and was chief mechanic for his friend Terry LaClear who raced his car at Crystal Motor Speedway for many years. Ken was very proud of building his own mud bog truck and chopper motorcycle from the ground up. He was a fan of the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football teams. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Ken is survived by his wife Carla Recker; his sons Ty (Lisa) Myers of Indiana, Kendale Recker, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and Kyle Recker of Texas; grandson, Jason Recker of Texas; granddaughter Sierra (Aaron) Reinhard of Clare; and great-granddaughter Oaklee Reinhard. He is also survived by his sisters Dyana (Jim) McVey of Cheboygan, and Lean (Mark) Goffnett of Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Dortha Recker. Cremation has taken place and a service celebrating Kendale's life will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Celebrant Michelle Sponseller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
