Kenneth L. Gilbert

Kenneth Gilbert, 70, of Rosebush, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Cremation has taken place and his memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd. with Pastor Jeremy Selvidge of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Medical Care Facility or American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ken was born Nov. 12, 1940, in Saline, the son of the late Claude and Gertrude (Goodin) Gilbert. He was employed by Ford Motor Company as a forklift operator. Some of his favorite pastimes were participating in tractor pulls, golfing, playing euchre, wine making, traveling to Florida and spending time with friends at the Eagles and Moose Lodge in Clare. Ken is survived by three children, Kimberly (Sam) Schmidt of Tecumseh, Karen Gilbert of Milan, and Tim Gilbert of Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters; and his companion, Shirleen Gepford of Rosebush and her family.
