Kenneth J. Zimmerman, 71, of Mt. Pleasant died Monday, March 3, 2003, at his home. His funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Lux Funeral Home. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Ken was born February 2, 1932, in Saginaw, the son of David and Irene (Wilson) Zimmerman. He married Nancy Colosky November 21, 1953, in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1950 during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a casino boat operator where he worked on the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nev. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, riding Harleys and fishing with his son-in-law. Ken is survived by his wife, Nancy of Mt. Pleasant; five children, Jim and Dale of Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Carrie) of Hastings, Becky (Eugene) Cook of Grand Rapids and Susan Nixon of Harrison, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Loyd of Saginaw; and a sister, Darlene Zimmerman of Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David; a grandson, Jon Cook; a sister, Lorraine Grady; and a brother, David.
