Kevin W. Humphreys

Kevin W. Humphreys, of Farwell, Michigan, passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 61, surrounded by his family at Woodland Hospice. Born on March 12, 1964, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Kevin was the youngest of four children to James and Elizabeth (Mulligan) Humphreys. He spent his formative years in Jackson, NJ, alongside his siblings Patricia, James, and Douglas.

Kevin graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 1982 and pursued higher education at Rutgers University. In 1984, he enlisted in the U.S. Army under the G.I. Bill and served honorably until 1986. He returned to Rutgers and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. Kevin's career began at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, where he met the love of his life, Mary Lee Luce. The couple married on September 11, 1998, in Belmar, NJ, and they lived in Downers Grove, IL, before settling in Farwell, Michigan.

Kevin was a dedicated employee at Migizi Economic Development Corporation, serving in human resources for the past nine years. He previously worked for the Delfield Company. A man of varied interests, Kevin enjoyed walking in the woods or on the beach, birdwatching with Mary Lee, running on local trails, playing video games (NHL 2008, Mario Kart and SOCOM) and challenging his mind with sudoku. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Mt. Pleasant.

He considered his family to be his greatest achievement and was a loving and supportive husband and father. He wholeheartedly enjoyed supporting his children in all of their endeavors, from sporting events to music performances, from academic competitions to fundraisers, and celebrating anything that was important to them.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary Lee; his children, Devin of Washington, DC, Madelon of Mt. Pleasant, and Ainslee of Farwell; his father, James of Freehold, NJ; and his brothers, Jim (Robin) of Freehold, NJ and Doug (Nancy) of Browns Mills, NJ. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and his sister, Pat Andreadis.

Kevin's legacy of kindness, patience, and devotion to his family and work family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Kevin's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Damitio officiating.
