Kevin H. Ross

Kevin Ross, 51, of Weidman and formerly of Lapeer, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at his home. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Chad Brown of Cornerstone Church officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Kevin was born July 15, 1958, in Lapeer, the son of Hugh and Elizabeth (Umpstead) Ross. He married Linda Crane on July 29, 1989, in Lapeer. He received his bachelor degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University in 2007. He was employed by McBride Homes as a counselor for the Day Treatment Program. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, Friends of the Broadway Theater, and the Democratic Party. He enjoyed sports cars, motorcycles, acting clubs, volunteering in the community, reading, and following the Detroit Tigers. Kevin is survived by his wife, Linda of Weidman; three children, Jennifer (Bob) Kayler of Twin Lake, and Nicholas Williams of Weidman and Nicole Ross at home; parents, Hugh and Elizabeth Ross of Lapeer; three sisters, Denise Ross of Lapeer, Margaret Jones of Springfield, Illinois, and Leslie Ross of Lapeer. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
