Kimberly Schafer, 56, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 along with her son, Joshua. A Funeral Mass for Kim will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant and Father Donald Henkes as concelebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon concluding at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Schafer Family for the education of Kims children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Kim was born April 18, 1961, in Wayne, Michigan, daughter of Robert and Joan (Doletzky) Pfeiffer. After graduating from Pittsford High School in 1979, she received Associates Degrees from both Jackson College and Michigan Tech. She also earned her Bachelors Degree from Sienna Heights. On July 25, 1997, Kim married the love of her life, Matthew Schafer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Kim was a daycare provider for 19 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she taught CCD for both elementary and secondary students. Some of her favorite pastimes were camping, flowers, puzzles, reading, and hiking. More than anything she enjoyed being a wife, mother, and supporting her children at their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Kimberly is survived by her husband of 20 years, Matthew; three children, Kalia Schafer and Isaiah Schafer, and Ryan McGuire; parents, Robert and Joan Pfeiffer of Newport Richey, FL; siblings, Jeff (Sharon) Pfeiffer of San Antonio, TX, Donna (Rodney) Nichols of Pittsford, Kathleen Pfeiffer of Jackson and Ray (Karolyn) Pfeiffer of Jackson; parents-in-law, James R. and Jeanette Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; siblings-in-law, Margaret Deoliveira of Cincinnati, OH, Maureen (Alan) Harke of Mt. Pleasant, Melinda Schafer of Mt. Pleasant, Marcus (Lakshmi Subramanian) Schafer of Madison, WI, Melissa (Pratik) Tandel of Mt. Pleasant, Michelle (Daniel) Davis of Merrill, and Mary (Joseph) Jiovani of Madison Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Marie Schafer; brother-in-law, Augusto Deoliveira; and niece, Sofia Deoliveira.
