Kim Cummings, 44, of St. Louis and formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma after a long battle with cancer. Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with light refreshments to be served immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Kims sister, Kelly Cummings. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Kim was born Oct. 17, 1964, in Lakeview, the daughter of the late Steven and Pamela (Oliver) Cummings. A graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1982, Kim worked at the Saginaw Chippewa Card Room from 1988-1996, Charter Cable from 1999-2002, and Russell Collection from 2004-2006. She loved spending time with family and once you met her, you were one of her friends. Kim is survived by her special friend and care giver, Mike Sauer of St. Louis; sister, Kelly Cummings of Alma; brother, Michael (Jeni) Cummings of Mt. Pleasant; four nieces and nephews, Brandon and Hannah Merritt and Nole and Hailee Cummings; maternal grandparents, Ed and Beverly Oliver of Louisiana; uncles, Tom Cummings of Blanchard and Paul Oliver and Peter Oliver of Louisiana; aunt, Perri (Jeff) Morell of Ludington; best friend, Michelle Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous cousins and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steven (1995) and Pamela (1992); paternal grandparents, George and Marie Cummings; and aunts, Patty Oliver, Peggy Oliver, and Betty Birch.
