Larry Lee Olsson

Larry Lee Olsson, aged 58, of Shepherd, Michigan, passed away on May 2, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. Born on July 26, 1966, in Big Rapids, Michigan, Larry was the eldest of five children of Larry Keith and Janet Ann (Gingrich) Olsson.  He later welcomed his younger siblings: Gregory, Arthur, Kimberly, and Cory. Larry attended Morley Stanwood High School and graduated from Reed City High School in 1984.

Larry attended Morley Stanwood High School and graduated from Reed City High School in 1984. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, honorably serving his country from 1984 until 1990. After his military service, Larry resided in California, where he welcomed his first son, Christopher. He worked as a maintenance technician for the Chula Vista School District.

Returning to Michigan in the late 1990s, Larry welcomed his second son, Nicolas. He continued his career as an HVAC Technician for the Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant, where he met the love of his life, Terri Lynn Turner, and became a stepfather to Kelsey. The couple married in Isabella County, Michigan, on September 20, 2008. Larry was currently employed as an HVAC Technician for Isabella County.

Larry enjoyed spending his free time riding his bicycle on the rail trail, being outdoors, and playing video games online with his brothers. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, work, and love for life's simple pleasures.

Larry leaves behind his wife, Terri; sons, Christopher (Courtney) Olsson of Blythe, CA and Nicolas Olsson of Mecosta; stepdaughter, Kelsey (Bryan) Harrington of Williamston; four grandchildren, Natalie and Lucas Olsson and Aubrey and Morgan Harrington; siblings, Gregory (Sherry) Olsson of Cadillac, Arthur (Brandi) Olsson of Stanwood, Kimberly (Richard) Updike of Big Rapids, and Cory (Missi) Olsson of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Celebrant Michelle Sponseller officiating. Following the service all are invited to a meal in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 p.m. until the start of the service.
