Lawrence Stebbins, 56, of Oil City, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids surrounded by family. A Funeral Mass for Larry will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Denis Heames presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lux Family Life Story Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. The Vigil service begins at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour prior to Mass. Larry was born Jan. 25, 1958, in Lansing, son of Ivan W. and Henrietta T. (Bedard) Stebbins. He graduated from Waverly High School in Lansing in 1977 and received his Associates Degree in graphic illustration from Ferris College. On July 11, 1987, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Santowski at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lansing. After moving to Oil City he worked for Rowe Professional Services as a draftsman and inspector. 12 years ago Larry and Sue purchased Headquarters Company Military Surplus Store on M-20. His dream was fulfilled when his new building opened Feb. 21, 2014. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and former member of St. Charles in Leaton. He was active with the Knights of Columbus where he served as past Grand Knight. Larry is survived by his wife, Suzanne; four children, Monica Sinicropi of Lansing, Christopher (Whitney) Crooks of Mt. Pleasant, Theresa (Alex) Stansberry of Mt. Pleasant and Maria Stebbins; two grandchildren, Caley and Nico Sinicropi; parents, Ivan and Henrietta of Lansing; five brothers, Brian of Mt. Pleasant, Pat (Ellen) of White Lake, Mike of Beaverton, John (Angie) of Lansing and Mark (Kelli) of Bloomfield Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
