Lawrence was born on November 22, 1927, in Detroit, Mi., son of the late Harold and Ethel (Sills) Stock. Lawrence married the love of his life Marie Paalanen in 1951 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Detroit, Mi. Together they raised their nine children in Detroit. Lawrence worked for Delta Model Company for 20 plus years and retired in 1989. He was a kindhearted, loving man who devoted his life to his great big family, friends, and God. He will be greatly missed. Lawrence enjoyed golfing, bowling, and hunting. He even accomplished a hole-in-one in his lifetime! Lawrence enjoyed the game so much that he made his own set of golf clubs and several of his children received a set as well. He also liked to drill out the holes in his bowling balls. Lawrence is survived by his children, Jeanette Stock of Lake, Larry Stock of Lake, Theresa Crabb of Hanover, Michael Stock of Lake, Patrick Stock of Lake, Christopher (Mary) Stock of Garden City, Kevin (Tammy) Stock of Houghton Hancock, Maria Stock of Flint and Charlene Good of Dublin, OH.; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Stock of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Marie; and six siblings. A memorial Mass for Lawrence will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Thomas Held as celebrant. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church Friday, one hour prior to Mass. A luncheon will follow immediately after, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Beal City. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home.
