Leona L. Bufford

Leona Bufford, 64, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Woodland Hospice. Leona was born June 26, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late ONeil and Audrey (Smith) Langlois. She was most recently employed by Walmart for 19 years, retiring in 2008. Prior to that, she had worked for Giantway for 10 years and Dial-A-Ride for four years. She enjoyed watching the food channel and traveling with her mom and her sister, Theresa. She is survived by her daughter Denise (Brian) Walton of Shepherd; two granddaughters, Mallory and Shelby; two sisters, Nancy Durfee and Sally (Mike) Merrifield, both of Mt. Pleasant; niece, Belinda Durfee; nephew, Edward Merrifield; and grand niece, Samantha Durfee. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Theresa Langlois; and brother-in-law, Berdet Durfee. A private graveside service will be held with her ashes being interred at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice.
