Leona D. Pope

Leona D. Pope, 85, of Mt. Pleasant died Sunday, December 2, 2001 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Her memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2002 at the V.F.W. Hall in Mt. Pleasant with Terry Inosencio officiating. Interment of her ashes will be in Ley Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family will receive friends at the hall one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Children's Clothing Fund. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Leona was born December 2, 1916, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Clyde and Gladys (Herring) Dalrymple. She married Kenneth Pope January 1, 1963 in Farmington, UT. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945. She was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Post 3033 and the American Legion. Leona is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Jim) Anstrom of Ft. Wayne, IN; one son, Pat Broderick of Panama City Beach, FL; three grandsons, Ray Aitkins, and Levi and Jerry Broderick; one sister, Eleanor Brown of Ft. Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Edith McAnnally of Lawrenceburg, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Pope.
