Linda Eileen Horning

Linda Eileen Horning, age 70, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Medi-lodge of Mt. Pleasant. Linda was born on March 28, 1946 in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Walter E. and Virginia Eileen (Skinner) Mock. On April 9, 1966 in Mt. Pleasant, Linda married Frank Horning, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2008. Linda was a resident of the area most of her life and was a home maker who enjoyed fishing, camping, their cabin in Paradise, Michigan and her church, Central Michigan Free Methodist Church. Survivors include her children, her son Christopher Dean and Cathi Horning of Saline, Michigan and her daughter, Deana and Russ Swinehart of Shepherd. Her mother, Virginia Ullery of Shepherd and ten grandchildren. A brother, Rick and Cindy Ullery of Midland, two sisters: Sandra and Don Lorenz of Midland and Diana and Ron Breedlove of Shepherd. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her father Walter Mock, step-father Dick Ullery and several aunts and uncles. A service celebrating Lindas life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2016 at 12 noon from the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Houser officiating. Following the funeral service, burial will take place in Kelly Cemetery, Oil City, Midland County. Friends and family will gather at the Rowley Funeral Home on Thursday, March 16 from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the church and the funeral home.
