Lois Mae Gearhart Hartzler
Lois Mae Gearhart Hartzler died in her home September 22nd, 2015. Her sons Mike and Steve, daughters-in-law Kami and Angie, and grandchildren Sydney and Travis were with her. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tia and James, and great-grandchild Eric. She was preceded in death by her husband Karyl in September, 2011.
In 1996, Lois retired from her career in substance abuse prevention and began her career as a jazz singer and music teacher. She loved the land, and was active in Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation, (MCWC).
Lois will be buried next to Karyl on the family farm. A memorial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 320 S. Bradley, Mt Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, she requested memorial contributions be made in her memory to Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation, P.O. Box 1, Mecosta, MI 49332.
The family has entrusted arrangements to Maier Family Funeral Home, Weidman, MI.989-644-5000. www.maierfuneralhome.com
