Lorene Ruth Warba

Lorene Ruth Warba, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. Born in Ithaca, Michigan, she was the third of four children of Lucille (Fisher) Olson and Clark Robert Olson, and cherished the close bonds she shared with her siblings Madeline, Marjorie, and Robert.

Lorene was a devoted student, graduating from Ithaca High School in 1950, and later earning her nursing degree from St. Mary's in Saginaw. She married Julius Edward Warba on September 17, 1955, in Saginaw, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith.

A dedicated Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Lorene touched countless lives over her 32-year career, serving with compassion as both a nurse and supervisor. Her caring spirit extended beyond the hospital walls, she found joy in gardening, baking, and spending time at The Lodge, the home she and Julius lovingly maintained in Harrison, Michigan, where she created lasting memories with family and friends.

Lorene was an active member of St. Helen's Church in Saginaw, St. Athanasius in Harrison, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was also affiliated with the Daughters of Charity at St. Mary's Hospital, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service and faith.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia Warba of Mt. Pleasant, Mark (Michelle) Warba of Big Rapids, and Matthew (Denise) Warba of Fenton; her grandchildren Courtney (Eric) Main, Kristen Warba, and Cameron (Amber) Warba; and her great-grandchildren Ashlynd Warba, Maddox Warba, and Levi Main. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Sally Olson of Traverse City, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Julius, and siblings Madeline Wood, Marjorie Soule, and Robert Olson.

Lorene's life was defined by love, service, and kindness, a true nurse to her patients, her family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be deeply missed, and service details will be forthcoming. In honor of Lorene's caring nature, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.
