Lorraine Monroe

Lorraine Monroe (Ross), age 77, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at MyMichigan Hospital Midland. Born on June 1, 1947, in Midland, Michigan. Lorraine lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by those she loved most.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom, and her parents, Cloyce and Mildred Ross. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Lori Myers and Lori's husband John; her daughters Kim (Tim) Kenyon and Tommie (Seth) Stoneburner; her son Cory Monroe; her grandchildren Lacy Rowe (Jason), Misty (Andrew) Watson, Tiffany (Ray) Hendricks, Cody (Kailee) Smith, Dustin (Andrew) Pleva and Cruz Stoneburner; and her great-grandchildren Trinity, Maddox, Aubree, Carter, Paige, Danielle, James, Carsyn, Blake, Sophia, Brinley, Brexley, Ellie, Macie and Oliver (due in September).

Lorraine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for animals—especially cats, dogs, and chickens—and spent many peaceful hours watching birds and squirrels from her window. She liked to bake and cook. Watching movies was another favorite pastime that allowed her to relax and enjoy quiet moments.

Above all else, Lorraine cherished time spent with her family. Their laughter and presence were a constant source of happiness for her.

A Celebration of Life honoring Lorraine will be held on June 1, 2025—what would have been her 78th birthday—from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Park located at 1426 W Cole Rd., Sanford, Michigan 48657.
