Lory Ann Fate

It is with heavy hearts we want to share that Lory Ann Person-Fate went home, to find comfort in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Lory passed in the comfort of her home in Remus, MI, and was surrounded by her loved ones. At the young age of 58, and after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer, Lory decided she was ready for her next chapter.

Although none of us were ready to flip the page, we are thankful for the time and impact she had on our lives. Heaven was always her final stop; if you knew Lory, you would know she was always first to the party. We know she is up there catching up with old friends, and family, getting all the missed hugs from her mom, Cindy Harvey, stepmother Donna Westerhausen, nephew Cody Decker, and dancing to Frank Sinatra with her best friend Jim Howard.

Lory was a wonderful woman who cherished her family more than anything. She was survived by her three children, Robi Person, Cassie Smith, and Geoffrey Smith, longtime love and friend Denny Donders, Husband Steven Fate, stepchildren Kelly & Stevie Fate, Sisters Tami (Brad) Decker & Diana Person, Father Don (Sharon) Person, as well as her adored and very much loved 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 7 nieces & nephews.

Lory was a charismatic, fun-loving woman that brightened any room. No job was too big, and she was not scared to get her hands dirty, to be honest, she preferred it. Lory was a business graduate of Montcalm Community College. She worked hard, was extremely motivated, and was good at anything she put her mind to. No dare went undone and no storm could rain on her parade, she made the best of every situation, and always came out on top. Lory enjoyed making things beautiful, gardening, rock picking, adventuring, spending time with her loved ones, and listening to music.

Lory's wishes were to have a celebration of life. The family is making the arrangements for the celebration to be this Spring and will post details once they are finalized so, we are looking forward to hearing your stories.
