Luella Lawler, 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital in Saginaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at St. Henry Church in Rosebush with Father Thomas J. McNamara presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the Mass begins. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Henry/St. Charles Parishes. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Luella was born Nov. 2, 1920 in Nottawa Township, the daughter of John and Rosina (Faber) Neubecker. She married James Lawler on Oct. 27, 1956 at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, playing cards, and farming. She was a member of St. Henry and St. Charles parishes and belonged to the Altar Society. Luella is survived by her two children, Mary (Michael) Hauck of Beal City and Pat (Rose) Lawler of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Mark, Kristine, and Sarah Lawler, and Emily and Erica Hauck; her brother, Ron (Barb) Neubecker of Clare; her two sisters, Genevieve Fox of Mt. Pleasant and Dorothy Tilmann of Beal City; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Neubecker of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James in 1971; brother, Norman Neubecker; and sister, Vada Holp.
