Jane Shenk, age 76, of Weidman passed away on Monday July 7, 2014 at Woodland Hospice with her loving family by her side.
Jane was born on May 7, 1938 to Claude and Barbara (Kinsey) DeWitt in Sault Saint Marie, MI. She grew up in the Detroit area and also graduated from Detroit area schools. She married Donald L. Shenk in Detroit in 1957 and he passed away in 2001. Jane was a member of the Weidman United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Group. She was very active in the Weidman Red Hats, Weidman Lions Club,VFW Post 4106 Ladies Auxiliary but her most treasured pastime was watching her grandchildren in sporting events and spending time with them.
Jane is survived by her sons; Les (Kari) Shenk, Lee (Angie) Shenk, and Jeff (Teresa) Clark; grandchildren, Chris, Hailey, Ben, Nicole, Krista, Kourtney, Corey and Curtis and a brother, Fred (Norma) DeWitt.
A funeral celebrating Jane's life will be on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Weidman United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott B. Smith officiating. The family will greet friends from 12 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place at Hulbert Cemetery, Hulbert, MI.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Carrie Clark; and her parents.
Memorial donations in Jane's memory may be made to the Nottawa Sherman Township Fire Department or Weidman United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
