Lynette Bragg, 67, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 26, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan. Lynette was born February 3, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Harold and Florence (Breuer) Schafer. After graduating from Beal City High School in 1974, Lynette earned a bachelor degree in education from Central Michigan University. She married Daniel Bragg on June 20, 1980, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Andrea, Nicole, Tony, and Ryan. Lynette worked at Isabella Community Credit Union for 25 years and was an administrative assistant. During the pandemic, she helped her grandchildren with online classes, and continued with their afterschool tutoring. She loved crafts, scrapbooking, and traveling. While she took three cruises in the past year, her favorite desitination was Michigan's upper peninsula. Lynette loved her family more than anything and was happiest around her children and grandchildren. Lynette is survived by her husband of 43 years, Daniel Bragg; their children, Andrea Bragg, Nicole (Michael) Thrush, and Tony (Regina) Bragg, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Ryan (Emma Leigh) Bragg of Shepherd; nine grandchildren, Hayden Thrush, Landen Thrush, Harlow Thrush, Bailey (Evan) Newberry, Shelby Thrush, Audrey Yatch, Matthew Zakrajsek, Preston Bragg, and Lorelei Bragg; one great granddaughter, Roselie Newberry; siblings, Ron (Joyce) Schafer, Jim (Janice) Schafer, Julie (Gary) McBride, George (Joanne) Schafer, Fred (Vicky) Schafer, and Scott (Brenda) Schafer, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Florence Schafer; and brother, Daniel Schafer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, at Sacred Heart Church where she was a member. Father Loren Kalinowski will preside. Her family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. with the Vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday one hour prior to Mass. All are invited to a luncheon at Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home) following the Mass. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City after the meal. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Cancer Services, St. Jude Children's Research, or Ronald McDonald House. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
