Arlene Epple, 89, of Leaton, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Prestige Centre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 15 at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Rosebush with Father Ron Wagner presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Arlene was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Isabella County, the daughter of the late John Earl and Anna Amelia (Hubble) Walker. Her marriage to Cecil Epple on June 23, 1943, at St. Henry Church lasted over 52 years, until Cecils death in 1996. In addition to raising seven children and helping her husband on the family farm, Arlene was employed as a custodian at Central Michigan University for 13 years. She was a member of St. Henry/St. Charles Parish and belonged to the Altar Society at St. Charles Church. Some of Arlenes favorite pastimes were traveling and walking. Her life was devoted to her faith and family. Her grandchildren will never forget how she touched their lives. Arlene is survived by seven children, Joanne (Don) Myshock-Hillier of Gladwin, Patricia (Timm) Scott of Gainesville, GA, Tom (Barb) Epple of Perry, Richard Epple of Haslett, Colleen (Darrel) Tower of Leaton, Gerald Epple of Leaton, and Daniel Epple and his special friend, Marie Turner of Leaton; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Morrison of Coleman; and brother-in-law, Leo Rogers of Coleman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; infant son, Michael William Epple; son-in-law, Adam Myshock; great-granddaughter, Mariah Danielle Myshock; and sister, Geraldine Rogers.
