Margaret Mogg, 90, lifelong resident of Rosebush, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Jeremy Selvidge of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Denver Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or charity of the donors choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Margaret was born February 1, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant on the family farm which has become a centennial farm by being passed down through all daughters. Her parents are the late Gerald and Minnie (Robert) Rukenbrod. She married Keith Mogg on July 20, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant. Together they worked to build one of the largest dairy farms in Denver Township in the hay-days. Margaret was actively involved in 4-H as a leader and helped to create the Dairy Boosters. She never missed an Isabella County 4-H fair and enjoyed watching the kids. She also enjoyed tending her large garden in her early years and canning the harvest. Other favorite activities included rock collecting and photography as well as yearly trips to Florida for the winter months where she was able to spend a lot of quality time with her sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Jack. Additionally, she was always very close with her three aunts, Kathryn, Amy and Ruby. Margaret is survived by four children, Gary (Mary Ann) Mogg of Rosebush, Ernie (June) Mogg of Rosebush, Mooch Mogg of Rosebush and Trudy (Alan) Courser of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Scott Mogg, Craig (Shawn) Mogg, Brandy (Jason) Armstrong, Chad (friend Lindsay) Mogg, Kurt (Abby) Mogg, Nicolette (Kevin) Blain, and Brittany and Danielle Courser; nine great-grandchildren, Caleb, Dusty, Rhianna, Zach, Deacon, Briella, Hayden, Christina, and Kendra; one sister, Gloria Baumgart of Gun Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Keith October 19, 2003; brother-in-law, Rev. Jack Baumgart; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Helen Mogg, Elmo and Daut Mogg, Wayne and Ellen Mogg, and Murray Mogg.
