Margaret Vallier, 98, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass. The family is being served by Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Parish Development Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church or funeral home. Margaret was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Beckemeyer, IL, the daughter of the late Henry and Agnes (Koch) Wolfe. She has been a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1985, coming from Englewood, FL. She was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. She served from 1943-1945 and was a specialist in weather observation. Her first husband, Lawrence Devereau, was lost at sea in 1941 during World War II. She later married a widower, Russell Vallier, and helped him raise his three teen-age children. She is survived by her sister, Helen Hartz of Mt. Pleasant; three step-children, Emery Vallier, Dean Vallier, and Lois Dinicola; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both husbands; two brothers; and two sisters.
