Marie F. Burden

They're together again Marie Francis Burden, age almost 102, passed from this life surrounded by her loving family, January 14, 2017, at Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Marie was born April 11, 1915, in Rosebush MI to Thomas Earl and Josephine (Bader) McReavy. On August 28, 1933, Marie married the love of her life, William (Bill) Burden. Marie and Bill were married for 79 joyful years and raised four children, all while lifelong residents of Mt. Pleasant's West Side. They enjoyed many winters as "Snow Birds" in Zephyrhills, FL. Marie was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother to five generations. She was a talented homemaker, seamstress, baker and crocheter, and worked at the downtown Economy five-and-dime store. Her family contributes Marie to her husband living to a great age of 105-1/2! Marie is survived by her sons; Donald and Harry Burden, of Mt. Pleasant MI, daughter; Betty (Virgil) Coomer, of Weidman, MI, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sisters; Mildred Block and Ruth Henry. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Robert Burden, and brother Robert McReavy. A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the Spring. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rowley Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, Isabella County Medical Care Facility, Ganiard History Project, or the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent and loving care given to Marie while she resided at Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
