Marie C. Richmond, 97, of Unionville and formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Vadavilla in Unionville. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at a later date to be announced. Marie was born April 25, 1908 in Gladwin, the daughter of Frank and Mae (Cassell) Hanna. She married L. D. Richmond. She played piano at the Chiefton Hotel, Doherty Hotel and numerous weddings until she was 85 years old. She also played for the Follies and different community affairs. Marie is survived by six children, Dr. T. F. (Peggy) Richmond of Cadillac, Bill (Ruth) Richmond of Fenton, Mary (Dr. Joseph R.) Newton of Roseville, Cal., Ann (Harold) Allen of Midland, Toby (Mike) Weaver of Caseville, and Linda (Steve) Cunningham of Beloit, WI; her daughter-in-law, Betty Richmond of Mt. Pleasant; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren ; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, L. D. Richmond in 1973; two sons, John and Don Richmond; and six siblings. The family would like to thank Sr. Josepha Wentworth and all the caregivers at Vadavilla for the wonderful care given to Marie.
