Marie Schall, 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 at the Laurels in Mt. Pleasant with her family by her side. Her memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Cremation has taken place. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the Mass begins. Memorial contributions may be made to the new hospice house for Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Marie was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Liker) Heintz. She married Dr. Frederick Schall on April 26, 1943 at Sacred Heart. Prior to moving to Mt. Pleasant Marie had lived in Joliet, IL and Muskegon. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and was a board certified cosmetologist. She was also a talented artist and enjoyed cooking and gardening while being a wonderful homemaker. Marie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Frederick Schall; four children, Frederick W. (Eileen) Schall of New Stanton, PA, James Schall of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Lynn (Joseph) Simons of Mt. Pleasant, and Mary Lee (John) Thomas of Traverse City; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Curt) Schall-Brazee of Traverse City and Tiffany (Scott Campbell) Schall of Mt. Pleasant; two great-grandchildren, Katherine and Jacob; brother, David (Patty) Heintz of South Lyon; sister, Dolores (Jack) Carroll of Houston, TX; and a sister-in-law, Tat Heintz of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Walter Heintz; and a sister, Sister Stephanie Heintz, O.P.
