Marilyn Jean Zorn

Marilyn Zorn, 95, of Mt. Pleasant passed away at Mt. Pleasant Comfort Care in Mt. Pleasant, on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  Marilyn was born on August 4, 1927, in Utica, MI., daughter of the late Edgar and Myrtle (Juengel) Keck.  She grew up on a farm that raised apples and cherries.   Marilyn was a high school graduate of Northville, MI. and received her masters from the University of Michigan. She married George Zorn in September of 1952 in Bloomington, IN.  Marilyn worked for CMU for more than 20 years teaching in the English and Literature departments retiring in 1999.  She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant.    Marilyn is survived by her children, Werner "Paul" Zorn of Royal Oak, Joseph (Margaret) Zorn of Canton and Benjamin (Suzanne) Zorn of Woodinville, WA.; five grandchildren, Danny Zorn, Kelly Zorn, Sam Zorn, Bill Zorn and Libby Zorn; siblings, Paul (Teresa) Keck of Corunna, Marjorie Lawson of Williamston, Karen Unruh of Dansville, and Joan Penfield of Grand Ledge.  She is preceded in death by both parents, and husband George.  Marilyn's memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Dana Hendershot officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Following the luncheon, interment of ashes will be in Riverside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers suggested memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Lutheran's Mission Endowment Fund.
