Marion M. Forshee Davis

Marion M. Davis, 99, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Midland died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Lux Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Abbey of Prospect Park Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery in Midland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect Park Church of God in Mt. Pleasant. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Marion was born Nov. 13, 1904, in Flushing, the daughter of Lee and Evelyn (Lewis) Parker. After marrying Orvie Forshee on Aug. 19, 1929, she moved from Swartz Creek to Akron. Together they worked on their dairy farm. They later moved to Gladwin County in the late 1940's and in 1958 moved to Midland. While in Midland she worked at MidMichigan Medical Center as a nurses aid. After Orvies death in 1975, she married Clarence Davis in 1985, at which time they moved to Mt. Pleasant. She was currently a foster grandparent for residents at the Mt. Pleasant Center. Marion is survived by five children, Lee (Ruth) Forshee of Lake Isabella, Ted (Yvonne) Forshee of Midland, Dorothy (Jerry) Bare of Midland, Ralph Forshee of Tuston, and Jack (Jo) Forshee of Midland; 29 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Evelyn Root of Swartz Creek; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Orvie Forshee and Clarence Davis; three children, Laverne Forshee, Marguerite Forshee, and Don Forshee; five brothers, Paul, Ralph, Adonis, Wayne, and Olin Parker; and three sisters, Leota, Ruth, and Elizabeth.
