Obituary

Mark Gerard Quakenbush passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on July 13, 1956, to Raleigh and Wanda (Riechoff) Quakenbush. Mark lived a life centered on family, hard work, friendship, and the simple joy of making others smile.

He graduated from Parkside High School in Jackson, Michigan, in 1974. Following high school, he went to work in the oil field for McCullough and then Baker Hughes. Mark later started his own company, MBK Distributing. He eventually retired from Bill's Custom Fab, where he worked alongside his brothers for 20 years. Throughout his life, he built a path marked by dedication and steady commitment, and he took pride in staying close to those he loved most.

Mark was a man with a great sense of humor and was very quick to make someone smile. He enjoyed being with friends, traveling, and especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Among all that mattered to him, his family stood above everything else, and one of his proudest accomplishments was always having family close by.

His marriage to Kimberly Klumpp was blessed with two children, Brian and Kyle. His second marriage was to Heather Kesselring-Quakenbush. Mark's legacy lives on through the family he cherished so deeply.

Mark is survived by his children, Brian (Jochelle Pereña) Quakenbush of Victoria, BC, and Kyle (Jennifer) Quakenbush of Belmont; grandchildren, Cameron Quakenbush, Makenna Quakenbush, Luna Pereña-Quakenbush, Jaxson Quakenbush, Aero Pereña-Quakenbush, Neala Quakenbush, and Emma Quakenbush; siblings, William "Bill" (Michelle) Quakenbush of Shepherd, and Michael Quakenbush of Mt. Pleasant; nieces, Jessica and Melissa; nephew, Eric. All who were part of Mark's family circle will carry forward memories of his laughter, his presence, and the care he showed in keeping family near.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Wanda (Riechoff) Quakenbush.

Mark will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a friend whose humor brightened the lives of others. His memory will remain a lasting blessing to those who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family and sent to Kyle Quakenbush, 5964 Marblehead Dr. NE, Belmont MI 49306.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life for Mark, will be held at a later date and time.
