Mark Sean Upton

Mark Upton, 51, of Lake, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Mark was born February 15, 1971, in Southfield, Michigan, the son of Steven C. and Diane M. (Daniels) Upton. A graduate of Howell High School in 1989, Mark earned his bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 1994. On October 21, 1995, he married the love of his life, Michele Struble, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant. Mark was employed by Unified Brands in Weidman for 14 years and most recently, employed by MAC Trailer in Mt. Pleasant. Mark was a hard worker. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at their cabin on Littlefield Lake. He was an avid sports fan, coaching both baseball and softball. More than anything, Mark loved his family. He will forever be remembered by his wife, Michele; children, Brett Upton, Sidney Upton, and Jake Upton; father, Steven (Amy) Upton of Fowlerville; mother, Diane Upton of Howell; sister, Audrey Upton of Lansing; father in-law, Doug (Jan) Struble of Rosebush; brother in-law, Doug Struble of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edison "Pops" and Elsie Upton; and maternal grandparents, Sam and Jaqueline Daniels. Mark's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the service. Following the service, a luncheon will immediately follow in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Mark will be laid to rest in Isabella County's Coldwater Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
