Mark Dean Walldorff, 39, of Grand Rapids, and formerly of Shepherd passed away Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Alma at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, with Rev. Dwight Hillstrom and Pastor Jeffrey ONeill officiating. Burial will be in Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 495 Charles Ave., Alma MI 48801. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Mark was born July 29, 1963, in Hillsdale, the son of Neil and Carolyn (Jensen) Walldorff. He was employed as a claims specialist at State Farm in the Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo areas for the last 16 years. In 1981 he graduated from Shepherd High School. He received his associates degree in Auto Body Technology from Ferris State University and later attained his bachelors degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Ferris State University Alumni Board, a new member of the Mayflower Congregational Church in Grand Rapids, assisting with Sunday school. He enjoyed gun collecting, hunting, fishing, golfing and his horse. The most important part of his life was his son who meant everything to him. Mark is survived by his son Christian Clare Walldorff of Grand Rapids; mother, Carolyn Bailey of Shepherd; father, Jack Bailey of Alma; one brother, Scott (Gail) Walldorff of Greenville; one sister, Denise (Mark) Palmer of St. Johns; dear friend, Dr. Elizabeth H. Henry of Grand Rapids; and nieces and nephews, Kyle and Neil Walldorff and Grace and Jada Palmer. He was preceded in death by his birth father, Neil Walldorff in 1966.
