Marlys Arlene Baybura, 80, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Marlys was born in Mahnomen, MN on September 11, 1934 to Alfred Julius Milsten and Maybell Otilja (Pulsberg) Milsten. She was a warm and loving soul with a twinkle in her eye. She loved to read, play cards with friends and interact with young children. She will be missed by her family and close friends, Janice, Darlene, Nora and Helen. Marlys graduated from Bremerton High School in Washington State. Her favorite jobs were telephone operator, Kindergarten Aide at Remus Elementary, and lastly, Preschool Aide at the Childrens Learning Center in Mt. Pleasant. Marlys is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Dr. Orhan Baybura, MD. She is also survived by her brother Alfred (Ramona) Milsten; her four children Brenda (Tim) Collins; Brad (Beth) Wager; Tracey Sherman; Scott Wager; her adopted children Vera Soukupova and Joel Seah; her three stepchildren, Erol Baybura, Hasan (Naomi) and Suzan Baybura; her twelve grandchildren and her five great grandchildren. Marlys was preceeded in death by seven brothers, three sisters, her son Cal Wager and son-in-law Jeff Sherman. A time of remembrance will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 6 at Mt. Pleasant Community Church, 1400 W. Broomfield St., Mt. Pleasant with a luncheon immediately following. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens on a future date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Woodland Hospice, 2597 S. Meridian Rd., Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, 48858. Donation envelopes will be available at Rowley Funeral Home and at the Remembrance Service.
