Martha Millie Mcqueen (Courser)

Martha McQueen, 94, of Blanchard, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Woodland Hospice. Martha was born April 7, 1929, in Isabella County, Michigan, daughter of the late Allen and Lula (Nicholson) Courser. Martha married Ronald McQueen on April 15, 1947, in Lansing, Michigan. Together they raised their five children, Lonny, Charlene, Ann, Lynn, and Phyllis in Blanchard.  Martha enjoyed quilting, sewing, collecting antiques, and baking.  She was often found searching for a good deal in a garage sale.  An excellent baker in her own right, Martha's children remember smelling the cookies and donuts when they arrived at home from school.  Martha had several garden beds at her home to which her husband, Ronald, enjoyed watching her hard work flourish.  She was a warm and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by many. Martha is survived by her children, Lonny (Ruth) McQueen, Charlene (Dennis) Wright and Ann (Tom) Britten all of Vestaburg; grandchildren, Rhonda (Bill Rose) McQueen, Brent (Shelby) McQueen, Wesley Wing, Gregory (Robin) Wing, Trevor (Danielle) Britten, Corey Britten, Justin (Melissa) McQueen, Chris McQueen, Michelle Wing and Richard Wing; 17 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald in 2001; children, Lynn and Phyllis McQueen; and her seven siblings.  A funeral service celebrating Martha's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Dan Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Following the service all are invited to a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home).  Following the luncheon, Martha will be laid to rest next to her husband in Union Cemetery in Winn.
