Marvin Schumacher, 86, of Rosebush, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father Patrick Jankowiak presiding. Burial will be in St. Henrys Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Friday from 5-9 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Marvin was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Isabella County, the son of the late John and Helen (Zeien) Schumacher. He married Florence Yager on Aug. 12, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church. A lifelong farmer, Marvin raised cattle and crops. He dedicated his life to farming and was proud of the example he set and also for what he provided for his family. He was a former member of St. Joseph The Worker Parish. Marvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florence; son, Dale (Marilee) Schumacher of Rosebush; granddaughter, Katelyn Schumacher of North Carolina; two brothers, Donald (Gerry) Schumacher of Beal City and Harley (Kathryn) Schumacher of Grand Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Schumacher in 1989; and a brother, Keith Schumacher in 2005.
