Mary "Susie" Ann Straus

Mary Ann Susie Straus, 77, of Beal City, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at McLaren Central Michigan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City with Father Ricky Varner presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the gathering room of St. Joseph Church on Monday from 4-8 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues on Tuesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or Beal City Sports Boosters. Envelopes are available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Susie was born June 15, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Edmund and Adele Ida (Latzko) Wejrowski . She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1954. She married Carl Straus Nov. 12, 1955 at Sacred Heart. Susie is survived by five children, Carla (Mike) Schafer of Beal City, Brian (Mary) Straus of Beal City, Julie (Ken Fifelski) Gorno of Bellaire, Erick (Carrie) Straus of Beal City and Emily (Steve Campbell) Straus of Beal City; 19 grandchildren, Krista (Mark) Gross, Tim and Ken Schafer, Ashley Straus, Katherine, Christian, Collin, Kevin, Curtis and Kadin Straus, Clayton and Marlena Gorno, Mason, Stone, Reagan and Casey Straus, and Morgan, Brenna, and Elias Campbell; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brandon and Lilah Gross and Lucas Cashen; siblings, John Wejrowski of Grayling, Teresa (Paul) Stickler of Beal City and David Wejrowski of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 2012; and son, Craig in 1987.
