Mary Louise Ley

Mary Ley, 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at her home. Her funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 24, at Lux Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the service begins. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ed, in St. Joseph Cemetery, Beal City. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Mary was born Sept. 2, 1919, in Lansing. Her parents were Burton and Glenna (Gage) Bader. She married Edward Ley on April 19, 1947 at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. She began working as a bookkeeper at Bader Milling Co. shortly after graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School. She remained there until it was sold in 1982. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, camping, and spending time with her family. Mary is survived by two sons, Dave (Tracey Bartell) Ley of Farwell and Mike (Barb) Ley of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Robert, Nicholas, and Heather Ley and Edward (Shannon) Ley and Jennifer (Jebadiah) Gilbert; and four great-grandchildren, Patricia, Shania, Kaden and Jean. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ed in 1988.
